Somatic Experiencing, developed by Peter Levine, is a body-oriented approach to resolving trauma by working with the nervous system's natural capacity to discharge and settle. Sessions are slow and titrated — small doses of activation paired with grounding — allowing the body to complete responses that were once interrupted.
